Mitocheck
Research Interest:

The focus of our research is to investigate cell cycle regulation of the DNA replication licensing pathway and mitosis in human cells and to determine how these critical steps in growth control become dysregulated in cancer. Diagnostic leads arising from these studies are being taken forward in multi-centre clinical trials. The assembly of the DNA replication initiation complex and crosstalk between the licensing machinery and checkpoint pathways are being studied to provide strategies for therapeutic intervention.
More details here.

Role in the MitoCheck project:

To investigate the role of novel mitotic regulators in the pathogenesis of human tumours and whether dysregulation of these regulatory proteins contributes to generation of genomic instability in aggressive aneuploid cancers.
